Project Overview | The Port Authority of New South Wales were seeking to integrate an Intelligent Transport System (ITS) solution to improve efficiency of ground transport at the Overseas Passenger Terminal (OPT) and White Bay Cruise Terminal (WBCT), by designing, procuring and installing an automated tolling system, which would provide up-to-date data for vehicles and traffic, reduce staff requirements and provide an additional source of revenue. |
JJR Involvement | JJR was engaged to provide end to end project management services to manage the options analysis, business case, design and procurement of an electronic tolling (eTAG) and license plate recognition (LPR) system for the Port Authority’s key cruise terminal precincts.
JJR also undertook the redesign of the George and Argyle Street entrance to the OPT and procured and installed equipment such as boom gates, lane controlling systems, hardware to allow access to the site such as automatic card readers, and software to monitor access to the terminal. |
