Archerfield Airport required a structural inspection of Hangar 7, in particular the front column which was showing signs of corrosion with complete loss of section in the web. The client requested the development of a permanent repair solution to maintain the structural integrity of the building. |
JJR Involvement |
A permanent repair solution to the corrosion of the column and any other observable defects was developed to ensure structural integrity of the hangar remained, including:
- Visual inspection of identified damage, including inspection of entire hangar to identify other defective elements;
- Review and analyse the structural integrity of the hangar;
- Develop potential options for repair; and
- Recommend a permanent repair option to the client.
