Project | Structural Assessment Report for a Proposed Gym Loading in an Existing Structure |
Client | Ray White Commercial |
Project Value | < $100k |
Project Overview | The client enquired about the structural capacity of an existing structure to support a new gym to be erected. The live load capacity of the structure needs to meet the requirements of the load bearing capacity for a gym. |
JJR Involvement | The project involved an on-site inspection to undertake a site survey and to establish structural geometry and layout. The elements included in the inspection were limited to internal areas and the external walls.
A final report summarised that the structure was unable to carry live loads greater than 4kPa and therefore was unable to be certified for gym use, which requires a structural load bearing capacity of 5kPa live load. |
